- I have therapy once a week for 45 minutes. After each therapy, I also take about 45 minutes to go over the “findings” from that session and to prepare for the next one. For the whole week until the next session, I am writing down in my notebook what has been happening to me regarding my feelings and my thoughts so that we me and my therapist can continue the work.
- I have sessions with my coach/mentor once a week for 60 minutes. Similarly to the work, I do with my therapist, I also prepare what’s been going on with me in the past week and what I want to focus on going forward.
- I am working daily on my “work” goals by developing myself professionally. I am surrounding myself with people who help me, I am reading and doing courses with the purpose of becoming better.
- I am saying “NO” to things I don’t want to do. At least the majority of the time. We only have so much time every time. And we have to choose with care what we say yes or no to. Otherwise, other people’s agenda wants and needs can take over our lives. Setting boundaries is extremely difficult, especially with those closest to you like your family, but it is absolutely crucial if you want to live a free, empowering and productive life.
- I am meditating daily for at least 10 minutes. I do have days when I don’t but I try to always get back on track as quickly as possible.
- I am adding vegetables to almost all my meals and am especially mindful of adding enough protein to all the meals. It’s very easy to forget about proteins and vegetables and just eat bread, rice or pasta with some sauce without all the nutritional value your body needs to function at its best.
- At least 7 hours of sleep every night. Still very hard for me but 80 % of the time I go to bed early enough so I can get 7 hours or more of sleep. I prefer 8 hours but I am not there yet. I still have big challenges with my sleep patterns but as the importance of sleep cannot be overstated, this is one of the areas I want to improve the most in the next 12 months.
- I am reading and rereading amazing books every week. I have taken notes from the majority of books I read and I am rereading these notes often to refresh the lessons I learned. Reading a book just once is more like skimming it. You want to study great books, not just read them.
- I am taking time for my hobbies. Being in good physical shape and enjoying life when playing a football match, hiking or spearfishing is what excites me, keeps me energized and lifts my spirit.
- I am seeing my physical therapist 2-3 times a week to fix the wrong movement patterns in my shoulder. I’ve been suffering from shoulder pain for a couple of years and it was preventing me from doing any sorts of sports where your arms are the main “tool” like swimming, table tennis or tennis. I am already swimming, I am already playing table tennis, I will hopefully be able to play tennis next year again.
